What is the Distributed Data Engine (DDE)?

Access data across any source without migration

The Distributed Data Engine (DDE) is the component of the Kamiwaza platform that enables AI to access data wherever it lives, without requiring any data to move from its original location.

How It Works

Lightweight components are deployed wherever critical data resides — cloud VPCs, on-premise servers, edge gateways. Specialized AI agents on each node understand the local data and process it securely within that environment. Only results are sent back; raw data never moves across boundaries.

Key Capabilities

  • Connects to any data source: mainframes, legacy policy admin systems, cloud databases, document repositories, and more
  • Processes data locally at the target node, within existing security boundaries
  • Supports intelligent model splitting and unified memory awareness for handling large datasets
  • Remains fully governed and auditable; every data access is logged

Why It Matters

The DDE is the engine behind Kamiwaza's core value proposition: enterprises with regulated, sensitive, or heavy data must no longer choose between AI capabilities and data security. They can have both.
